Metal-free dentistry
The most advanced materials for the best dental service - durable, beautiful, and healthy.
Metal-free materials in dentistry
Metal-free materials in dentistry today consist of highly stable and well-tolerated ceramics. With the latest computer technology, we produce inlays, crowns, and bridges from this ceramic, completely avoiding the use of metal in a holistic manner. Even dental implants are made from these innovative materials.
Modern dental ceramics made from zirconia are much more stable and durable than the previously used metal-based ceramics. Due to their white color, they appear much more aesthetic and natural, and they also exhibit improved compatibility. Unlike metal ceramics, modern ceramics are not associated with allergies or intolerance. Additionally, ceramic does not corrode like metal and its exceptionally smooth surface provides minimal foothold for bacteria. Consequently, even in the marginal area of the dental restoration, the gum remains smooth and free from inflammation.
Case studies
Metal-free ceramic dental restorations
If teeth are lost, they should be replaced to enable solid chewing and free smiling again. For dental bridges, the neighboring teeth are prepared to anchor the bridge. They are ground down and molded. The resulting model of the patient's teeth is then measured by a digital 3-D scanner.
Subsequently, using this data, the dental prosthesis is constructed on the computer using the so-called CAD/CAM process and milled from a white ceramic block with the help of a milling machine. The individual shape is finally elaborated by dental technicians through the layering of another special ceramic. This modern ceramic achieves aesthetics that were previously unattainable - completely white throughout.
Metal-free ceramic dental implants.
Ceramic implants are made from special zirconia ceramic. Unlike ceramics used in the past, this material is extremely fracture-resistant and biologically well tolerated.
Due to their white color, ceramic implants closely resemble natural teeth. This aesthetic advantage is particularly beneficial for implants placed in visible areas (front teeth), especially when the covering gum tissue is very thin. The smooth surface prevents bacterial attachment, keeping the surrounding area free from inflammation and healthy.
Metal-free ceramic fillings (inlays)
If a tooth is partially destroyed by decay or an old filling needs to be replaced, a tooth-colored ceramic inlay can be used. These are insert fillings (inlays) made from a special ceramic material to replace the defect in the tooth.
The old filling or the area of the tooth damaged by decay is removed. The defect is then prepared accordingly and captured with a special camera. The computer calculates a three-dimensional image from the acquired data, based on which the inlay is constructed and milled from stable ceramic material in tooth color. The dentists place the filling, then bond it to the tooth, and make final adjustments. Afterward, it is hardly distinguishable from the natural tooth.
The production of ceramic dental prostheses is carried out by dental technicians.
The initially computer-milled framework of the dental prosthesis (e.g., crowns/bridges) is ultimately handcrafted by the dental technician with precision. Layer by layer, a specially developed surface ceramic is applied to the zirconia core. This process ensures optimal aesthetic results that are hardly distinguishable from natural teeth. Tooth color, shape, and transparency are precisely tailored to the patient's individual characteristics. Every dental prosthesis we provide to our patients is crafted by our dental technicians according to these quality standards.
